Caridad is an interior barangay of Salcedo located 12 kilometers west of the town proper of Salcedo, 28 kilometers from the town proper of Guiuan, and 60 kilometers southeast of Borongan City, the capital of the Province of Eastern Samar. It is bounded on the east by Brgy. Seguinon, on the west by Brgy. Naga of the municipality of Quinapondan, on the north by Brgy. Matarinao Bay and on the south by Brgy. Casilion.
Brgy. Caridad is both accessible by land and by sea through pump boat or banca. The National highway in Brgy. Casilion connects the Provincial road going to the barangay. Public Utility vehicles such as buses which traverse the national highway day and night, jeepneys, vans, tricycles, trucks and single motorcycle are the means of transportation in
the area.
The barangay has a flat and hilly terrain and the climatic condition prevailing in the ARC is Type II. Practically, this is true to whole Samar Island. Type II climate is characterized by no pronounced wet and dry season. Precipitation occurs throughout the year. However, maximum rain periods occur from November to January, while least rainfall is experienced from May to August.
