Stretching approximately 261 meters along the shoreline of Barangay Camanga, the Camanga Boardwalk stands as a symbol of sustainable coastal development and community progress. Developed in phases since 2020, it reflects the local government’s commitment to improving coastal access, enhancing safety, and creating spaces that support livelihood, leisure, and tourism.
The boardwalk was formally opened on March 13, 2026, during the Barangay Serbisyo Caravan and Information Drive conducted in Barangay Camanga. This milestone serves as a testament to the community’s shared commitment to fostering more vibrant and sustainable tourism activities in the years ahead.
More than just a pathway, the boardwalk serves as a vital link between the community and the sea, supporting local fishermen, facilitating transport to nearby coastal and island barangays such as Barangay Maliwaliw, and strengthening coastal connectivity. Today, it has also emerged as a growing tourism destination where visitors can walk, unwind, and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze, scenic views, and peaceful coastal atmosphere. For many, it has become a favorite “pasyadahan” for relaxation and social interaction.
Beyond its social and economic value, the boardwalk promotes environmental stewardship through initiatives such as mangrove planting, while also contributing to disaster preparedness and coastal resilience. It opens opportunities for tourism-related activities, small businesses, and local livelihoods, from food stalls to guided coastal experiences.
Importantly, the Camanga Boardwalk is envisioned as a gateway for island-hopping tours, providing access to nearby attractions such as Minamhay Sandbar, Binabasalan Islet, and Baul Islet, further enhancing the municipality’s coastal tourism offerings. More than just infrastructure, the Camanga Boardwalk is a shared space where community, nature, and tourism come together, creating meaningful experiences for present and future generations.
