The Local Government Unit of Salcedo successfully conducted the first barangay visit of its Serbisyo Caravan in Barangay Alog, bringing essential government services closer to the community and strengthening coordination at the grassroots level.
The activity began with the LGU’s participation in the flag-raising ceremony at Barangay Alog Elementary School, symbolizing unity among local officials, educators, and residents. This was followed by brief messages from Punong Barangay Hon. Ailene Datay and Mayor Atty. Melchor Mergal, who emphasized the importance of accessible, responsive, and people-centered public service.
Also in attendance were the Legislative Office headed by Vice Mayor Atty. Christian May L. Machica, together with the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, as well as the heads of offices of all LGU departments, demonstrating full support for the Serbisyo Caravan initiative.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony formally opened the caravan, after which residents availed of services from the different LGU department offices according to their respective concerns. The on-site delivery of services allowed constituents to conveniently access government assistance and information within their own barangay.
Barangay Alog Elementary School teachers and students also participated in the activity through an educational tour, during which learners visited various LGU offices, observed live demonstrations, and gained first-hand knowledge of how local government services are delivered.
The LGU-Salcedo extends its sincere appreciation to the Barangay Alog Council, led by Hon. Ailene Datay, for their cooperation and support, which contributed greatly to the smooth implementation and overall success of the Serbisyo Caravan.
