The Local Government Unit of Salcedo, through the Municipal Tourism Office, hosted the South Pacific Strip Cluster Meeting and Learning Visit on August 29-30, 2024. The event took place at the beautiful Seaside Beach Resort in Brgy. Jagnaya, Salcedo, Eastern Samar. This was a fantastic opportunity to explore our local gems, including the stunning Minamhay Sandbar, the serene Binabasalan Islet, and the historic Bukid Koykoyon heritage stairs.
The South Pacific Strip Cluster, a vibrant collective of the municipalities of Hernani, General MacArthur, Salcedo, Mercedes, and Guiuan, came together to discuss and shape the tourism in the province. We were honored by the presence of dedicated tourism officers, including Sir Joseph Jay Ayon (LGU Hernani), Sir Franky Canites (LGU Gen. MacArthur), Ma’am Janet Israel-Ramos (LGU Guiuan), and Sir Nestor Mergal (LGU Salcedo). Although we missed Sir Mark Anthony Ogtip (LGU Mercedes) and Sir Neil Pinarok (PTO – Eastern Samar) due to prior commitments, their support was greatly appreciated.
The focus of the activity was on advancing the South Pacific Strip Tourism Circuit through knowledge sharing and partnership building. With a united spirit and commitment to making Eastern Samar a premier tourist destination. The connections we forged and the innovative ideas shared during this event will propel us toward a brighter future for our tourism industries. Together, we are ready to achieve great things.
